Airbus A-310
The Airbus A-310 is a narrow-body, twin-engine, medium-range jet aircraft manufactured by Airbus. It was designed as a larger successor to the Airbus A300 and first flew in 1982. The aircraft is designed to carry 200 to 250 passengers over a distance of up to 9,000 km. The Airbus A-310 was produced from 1982 to 1998 and a total of 255 were produced. Major carriers of this aircraft include Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways and China Eastern Airlines. Today, the Airbus A-310 is increasingly being retired and replaced by more modern aircraft. The aircraft features efficient fuel management and the ability to land at smaller airports. In 2006, an upgraded version of the aircraft, designated the Airbus A310 MRTT, was developed to serve as a military air refuelling tanker. The Airbus A-310 is considered to be a successful model that brought Airbus a number of innovations and technologies that were later applied to other aircraft types.
