Antonov An-26
The Antonov An-26 is a Soviet turboprop aircraft that first entered service in 1969. The aircraft was developed as an improved version of the previous An-24 model. The An-26 is designed primarily for short and medium-range operations, both for civil and military use. It can carry up to 40 passengers or 5 tonnes of cargo. The aircraft is equipped with two AI-24VT turboprop engines, which allow it to reach speeds of up to 440 km/h and cover distances of up to 2,500 km. The An-26 became a very popular aircraft in the Soviet Union and later in other countries. It was produced from 1969 to 1986 and over 1,400 units were produced in total. The aircraft was also exported to many countries and is still in service with some airlines. Military versions of the An-26 were used to transport troops, cargo and parachutes. In the civilian sector, the aircraft was used to transport passengers and cargo over short and medium distances. The aircraft was also used for humanitarian missions, such as supplying areas affected by natural disasters.
