BAe Hawk
The BAe Hawk (sometimes also referred to as the Hawk) is a British two-seat jet trainer. It was developed in the 1970s by British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing). The aircraft was designed as a successor to the Folland Gnat and mainly performs the task of training pilots for combat aircraft. It is produced in several versions, including a trainer version for aerobatics, a trainer version with weapons for combat training, and an air defence version. The Hawk has twin-engine propulsion and reaches a top speed of up to 1,030 km/h. It is armed with two 30mm cannons and can carry various types of missiles and bombs. It also has advanced avionics, including radar and tracking and control systems. The aircraft is deployed in several countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, India, Canada, Australia and South Africa. The Hawk has proven to be an excellent trainer aircraft with excellent flight characteristics and continues to be popular with many air forces. In recent years, plans have emerged to upgrade the Hawk, including replacing older engines with new ones and upgrading the avionics.
