Airbus A330 - Beluga
The Airbus A330-743L Beluga XL (F-GXLJ) is a special version of the A330 used by Airbus to transport large cargo such as wings and fuselages between its factories in Europe. The Beluga XL was designed based on the A330-200 and has a larger fuselage that widens into the shape of a white whale (Beluga in English). Its fuselage is 63.1 metres long, making it one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world. The Beluga XL has a payload capacity of up to 51 tonnes and can carry loads up to 40 metres long. The Beluga XL is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 turboprop engines and can reach a top speed of 830 km/h. It has a range of up to 4,000 km, allowing it to transport cargo between various Airbus factories in Europe. The first flight of the Beluga XL took place in July 2018 and since then it has been used to transport cargo between Airbus factories. Currently, there are a total of six units of this aircraft.
