Eurofighter Typhoon
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a multi-role combat aircraft developed by Eurofighter GmbH, a consortium of European companies including Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo. The first aircraft flew in 1994 and the Typhoon is currently in service with several countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy and Austria. The Typhoon is designed as a multi-role aircraft that can be used for a variety of missions, including combat against other aircraft, attacks on ground targets, reconnaissance and rescue operations. It is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics, including a radar with active electronic illumination that can process up to 400 targets and track up to 40 of them at a time. Typhoon is twin-engine powered and can fly at speeds of up to 1,550 mph (2,495 km/h) at altitudes of up to 59,000 feet (18,000 metres). It is equipped with a pair of 27 mm Mauser BK-27 guns and can carry up to 7,500 kg of ordnance, including various types of missiles, rockets and bombs.
