The model comes from the HobbyMaster aircraft edition. It is a highly accurate model which impresses with its opening cabin, movable flaps, excellent riveting etc.
The F6F Hellcat was a fighter aircraft manufactured by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation. It was powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine with over 2000 horsepower and armed with six Browning machine guns. It was successfully deployed during World War II and the Korean War in various roles. During the Battle of the Philippines, American Hellcats shot down more than 500 Japanese aircraft. Today, only a few restored Hellcats can be seen in museums and at air shows.
