The F/A-18 Hornet is a military aircraft developed in 1983 that is still in service in many countries. The aircraft can carry a variety of weapons, is powered by two General Electric engines and has advanced avionics. It measures 17.1 metres in length, 12.3 metres in wingspan and 4.7 metres in height. The Hornet can fly at speeds of up to Mach 1.8 and reach a maximum altitude of 15,240 feet. The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet version has a greater capacity and range. It is used by the USA, Australia, Canada, Spain, Finland, Malaysia and Switzerland.
