The Brewster F2A Buffalo was a fighter aircraft that was developed for the US Navy in the mid 1930s. The aircraft had performance problems, but later versions proved more successful. The Buffalo became famous in the Battle of Midway, but suffered heavy losses and was unsuitable for combat against more modern aircraft. In total, approximately 500 Buffalo aircraft were produced, most of which were used during World War II. At present, no Buffalo survives in airworthy condition.
