The Focke-Wulf Fw-190 was a German single-engine fighter aircraft with a powerful BMW 801 engine, speed up to 657 km/h and excellent performance at medium altitudes. It was produced in many variants, with gun and machine gun armament, and was often deployed as a fighter-bomber against Allied convoys. The Fw-190 replaced older German aircraft and was popular among pilots for its speed, agility and power. It was deployed on all fronts of the war and produced until the end of the war.
