The Junkers Ju-87, also known as the Stuka, was a German fighter bomber used during World War II. The aircraft had a distinctive design with "W" shaped wings and a pair of ball tanks under the wings that could carry bombs. It was armed with four 7.92 mm machine guns and powered by a 1,200 hp Junkers Jumo 211 engine. It was deployed in Poland, Norway, France and the Soviet Union, where it became famous for its wing-mounted sirens. Although successful in the early stages of the war, it was replaced by more modern aircraft in later years.
