About Ju-87 "Stuka":
The aircraft was designed as a two-seat dive bomber. It first flew in 1935 and had its combat baptism a year later as part of the Condor Legion in the Spanish Civil War. It was armed with two 37 mm guns and machine guns in the rear gunnery.
The aircraft was easily recognizable due to its "gull" wing shape and rigid undercarriage. In addition, the shape of the wings provided an important function - thanks to its shape it was easier to see the target.
Famous as an icon of the blitz war of 1939-1942, it was infamous for its bombing accuracy and the wailing siren that was always sounded at the start of a manoeuvre.
The aircraft had several previously unused innovations, including automatic aerodynamic brakes that were activated if the pilot fell unconscious during a dive.
