The KV-1 was a heavy tank used during World War II by the Soviet Army. It was very well armored and could withstand attacks from enemy tanks, but its weight made it slow and clumsy. It was armed with a 76.2mm gun and two machine guns, and was upgraded with more powerful guns during the war. The KV-1 was deployed in many battles, including the Battle of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk. After the war it was replaced by more modern tanks, but some machines were used until the 1960s.
