Douglas MD-83
The MD-83 is a medium-sized, twin-engine jet transport aircraft that was developed by McDonnell Douglas. It is a variant of the DC-9, which first entered service in 1985. The MD-83 has a passenger capacity of up to 155 passengers and a range of up to 5,080 kilometres. The aircraft is powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney JT8D-219 engines, which allow it to reach a top speed of 871 kilometres per hour. The MD-83 was a popular aircraft during the 1980s and 1990s and was used by many airlines around the world. The MD-83 was produced from 1984 to 1999, during which time a total of 265 units were produced. The aircraft was used for passenger transport, cargo transport and military operations.
