The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 is a Soviet and Russian single-seat supersonic fighter aircraft developed in the 1970s. The aircraft was designed to provide air superiority and attacks on ground targets. The MiG-29 is equipped with two afterburner engines that allow it to reach speeds of up to 2,450 km/h (approximately Mach 2.3) and altitudes of up to 18 kilometres (11 mi). The aircraft is also equipped with advanced electronic systems, including a radar that allows it to detect targets at long ranges and with high accuracy. The MiG-29 has been deployed in several conflicts, including the war in Afghanistan and the 1999 India-Pakistan conflict. The aircraft is still in active service with the Russian Air Force and many other countries, including India, Poland, Hungary and others.
