P-40 Warhawk
The P-40 Warhawk was an important WWII aircraft that participated in combat operations in Asia, the Pacific, Europe and Africa. It was the most widely used American fighter aircraft after the P-51 Mustang and P-47 Thunderbolt. The P-40 was capable of a variety of roles, including intercept, bombing, and reconnaissance, and played an important role in protecting Allied ships and attacking Japanese positions in the Pacific. It was also active on the European battlefield, where it served to protect bombers and in surface operations.
