Information about the original:
The Mustang was one of the best and most effective fighter aircraft of World War II. It proved to be a powerful and versatile weapon. The Mustang Mk.III (derived from the P-51B/C), which served with the British Royal Air Force, entered service in February 1944; its most distinctive feature was the convex cockpit canopy known as the "Malcolm Hood", which improved the view from the aircraft. This machine was used as an escort aircraft for bomber formations, as a fighter-bomber, and for various reconnaissance missions over Europe until the very end of the war. The P-51C could reach a top speed of up to 711 km/h.
