About Sd. Kfz. 184:
The Sd.Kfz. 184 Ferdinand was a heavy tank fighter developed by Germany during World War II with production limited to 1943. Armed with an 88mm gun and heavy armour, the Ferdinand was used to destroy armoured vehicles, especially Soviet tanks. It was powered by two Maybach HL 120 TRM engines and reached a top speed of 30 km/h on the road and 14 km/h off-road. During the Battle of Kursk in 1943, most Ferdinands were destroyed. The remaining ones were upgraded and renamed Elefant. Several examples of the Ferdinand and Elefant are now preserved as museum exhibits around the world.
