Short Tucano
The Short Tucano is a British training aircraft developed by Short Brothers in the early 1980s. The Tucano was designed as a replacement for older types of training aircraft used by the British Royal Air Force and was intended for training pilots in the field of basic and advanced flying. The aircraft is a single-engine, low-wing aircraft with a crew of two and fixed landing gear. It is powered by a Garrett TPE331 turboprop engine, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 370 km/h and reach altitudes of up to 9,140 meters. The Tucano was deployed during the 1991 Gulf War, where it was used for ground attack and reconnaissance missions. In addition to the British Royal Air Force, the aircraft has also been used by the air forces of other countries, including Brazil, Honduras, Jordan and Kenya.
