Shuttle
The Space Shuttle is the name given to a type of spacecraft developed and used by the American space agency NASA. The Space Shuttle was developed as a versatile space vehicle that would enable the transport of astronauts and cargo into space, as well as return to Earth. The shuttle consists of several parts, including the main body, instrument module, cargo bay and a pair of wings. The main body of the Shuttle is the crew cabin and the instrument module, which contains the control and navigation systems and other necessary equipment. The cargo bay is located below the main body and allows for the transport of cargo into space. The wings of the Shuttle are designed to allow the spacecraft to land on the runway like a conventional aircraft. The wings are equipped with a heat shield to protect the shuttle from the high temperatures of atmospheric entry. The shuttles were in service from 1981 to 2011 and have made a total of 135 flights into space.
