Shenyang J-11
The Shenyang J-11 (also known as Su-27SK) is a Chinese fighter aircraft based on the Russian Su-27SK. The aircraft was jointly developed with the Russian Air Force in 1995 and production has been under license in China since 1998. The J-11 is powered by two jet engines with thrust up to 12,500 kg each and reaches a top speed in excess of Mach 2. The aircraft is equipped with modern avionics, radar system and armament including various types of air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles. The J-11 has been used by the Chinese Air Force in a number of conflicts and exercises, including tensions with Taiwan and airspace defense. The aircraft has also been exported to several countries, including Pakistan and Indonesia. The J-11 is currently the Chinese Air Force's most widely used fighter aircraft and is still being improved and upgraded, including the development of a newer version, the J-16, based on the Russian Su-30MKK.
