Sukhoi Su-34
The Sukhoi Su-34 is a Russian multirole combat aircraft that was designed to attack ground targets and conduct reconnaissance missions. The aircraft was developed by Sukhoi and first flew in 1990. The Su-34 is equipped with advanced avionics and sensor systems, including an active electronically-controlled phase-locked (AESA) radar, which allows it to detect and track targets at long range. The aircraft also has systems for evading missiles and other projectiles, including electronic countermeasures and thermal traps. The Su-34 has a crew capacity of two, a pilot and a navigator. It is equipped with a wide range of different weapons, including laser-guided missiles and bombs, as well as strafing bombs and missile systems. The aircraft can also carry the GSh-30-1 30 mm calibre automatic cannon. The Su-34 has a top speed in excess of 1 900 km/h and a range of over 4 000 km, allowing it to carry out long-distance combat missions. The aircraft also has excellent manoeuvrability and the ability to make quick turns. The Su-34 is still in service with the Russian Air Force and has also been exported to several other countries, including India and Algeria. The aircraft has been deployed in several combat conflicts, including the Russian intervention in Syria in 2015.
