Sukhoi Su-57
The Sukhoi Su-57 (also known as the Felon) is a Russian 5th generation multirole fighter aircraft developed as a successor to the Su-27 and Su-35. The first prototype flew in 2010 and the aircraft entered service with the Russian Air Force in 2019. The Su-57 is designed to be capable of conducting combat missions against aircraft and ground targets, as well as reconnaissance and electronic warfare operations. The aircraft is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic and sensor systems, including an Active Electronic Stage Awareness (AESA) radar, enabling it to detect targets at long range. The Su-57 can reach speeds of up to 2,440 km/h. The aircraft is capable of carrying a variety of weapons, including cruise missiles and nuclear weapons. The Su-57 is designed to have low visibility for radar and infrared sensors, which should enable it to conduct operations with minimal risk of detection. The aircraft also has excellent manoeuvrability and the ability to perform vertical take-off and landing. The Su-57 is considered one of the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world and was developed as a response to the US F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II. Currently, the Russian Air Force is trying to gradually replace its aging fleet of Su-27 and Su-35 aircraft with Su-57s.
